Hi, I was diagnosed on Tuesday with a start Diagnosis of Smouldering Myeloma. Was a shock after the doctor initially said they were 85% sure it was MGUS looking at bloods. But Bone Marrow was 13% with biclonal IGA and paraprotein. It’s so weird having that diagnosis and no one is rushing to try and save you. Or is that just me? Have a lump side of neck which I’m waiting for scan. bone scan was clear. Kidneys are already damaged by autoimmune disease, so can’t say that is myeloma. The renal team flagged up my paraprotein, as levels have been rising since Oct 2023.
