    • Hi
Just found this conversation about Curcumin. I was diagnosed in 2016 here in France. I was lucky that they had suspected it was coming and jumped on it. I then had 2 x 9 month periods with a gap between them, of Carphilzomib, Melphalan and Prednizone. Then I had a 10 month break before being put on Ixsazomib, Revlimid and Dexamethazone. I’m now in the 5th 28-day cycle and my Lambda peak has started to rise tiny bit instead of fall. My consultant is leaving any decision to change treatment until September, unless July blood test suggests otherwise.
In the meantime I discovered an article in the British Medical Journal relating a case study of a woman who had seemingly come to the end of the road as far as chemo was concerned. For the following 5 years she took 8gms (that’s 8000mgs) Curcumin daily, and the MM has been stable. With an OK from my consultant I have now been taking 10gms (10,000mgs) daily for 6 weeks so far. I can report that my intestines seem be a little upset about my decision and I think it is the cause of a massive increase in gas production. My wife found the 10mg pills on Just Vitamins. She has just bought a year’s supply for £54.
Any comment would be of interest..

      • Hi Ian,
Apologies for the delay in replying; I’ve been camping and walking St Cuthbert’s Way with intermittent Internet access.
I was taking 4 gms per day for about 14 months and developed a urine infection as far as I’m aware unrelated to curcumin but I stopped taking it so that blood tests including PSA for prostate wouldn’t be affected in any way (my call entirely). Ongoing tests and I haven’t taken curcumin up again but will do eventually. £54 for a year’s supply seems amazing. I too use Just Vitamins must check their latest deals
