I failed stem cell harvests last march using cyclophosamide as a prime and then in april using mozobil . Now the docs are proposing etoposide . Does anyone have experience of this .
Prior to the earlier failed attempts I was on 2 cycles of CDT , then 5 cycles of VDT – these didn’t work and I then went on 2 cycles of VDT PACE which worked but my stem cells wouldn’t play ball. Since April I have been on RVD up until the last month when I m having a well earned break to let my cells recover prior to the harvest attempt . I know etoposide is the E in VDT PACE but has anyone used it as a primer for harvest ?
    thanks Phil

    Hi Phil
This reply may be too late for you but I had etoposide at Hammersmith Hospital London before my stem cell collection. I am now almost 1 year in stringent complete remission so the etoposide was successful for me. The etoposide made me neutropenic as expected but I don’t remember any more serious side effects although I did lose patches of hair after it.
