    Hi Everybody

It is interesting how people differ when given. Zometa Slim started on it 2 years ago the same time he started treatment ,but now because we see consultant every. 2 months the Zometa is now given every 2 months,we were told as time goes by it is less effective . He has never had any flu symptoms, to make things easier we have blood done at GP then 5 days later Zometa.
Going every 2months makes life easier,we can make plans for 6 weeks and return for the last 2 weeks. Eve

    Hi Tom & Eve,

I took 2 paracetamol yesterday afternoon once I had got down to 37.7 through drinking for Wales and my temperature was down to normal within 3 hours. I was soaked through with sweat so the paracetamol had done its job. It has remained stable and I am feeling much better. Still sweating buckets but it is DexDay tm so nothing new there. 😉

I didn't have 'flu' symptoms Tom, just the temperature and that was 'only just' into fever. I took 5 half-hourly readings before taking the paracetamol and the highest reading was 38.20 and there were 3 more readings above the 'fever' mark (38.10 – 38.06 – 38.01) but no indication of a climbing ratio. So you are quite right that I should not put the temperature down to Zometa Tom but in this case there does not seem to be anything else to pin it on and hopefully it is now under control and one to put down to experience.

I am on a four week infusion plan Eve, to fit in with my Bendamustine intake, so it looks (as with Slim) as if there is a certain amount of flexibility with Zometa which is good to know. 😎

Regards to all… now back to the Dex inspired doolallyness. 😛

Thanks Tom… and you stay fit and relatively healthy for a long, long time to come my friend… believe me it does us good to know that at least one of the old guard is beating this bloody disease back down the field.

You and Elaine have both taken a battering these last few years and you deserve every good thing and every bit of luck that comes your way.

'Onwards and Upwards', 'Whatever It Takes' and 'Vasbyte' 😎

    Hi :Dai

Who would have put odds on you getting through round three, a few months ago! I admire your determination.

I go back on Zometa tomoorow, after four months off for dental work. Like you, my veins can be very difficult, but I am travelling in hope!! I only had shivers on the first cycle, nothing since, and as mt last back X-ray showed "no lesions", having been told my bones were full of holes a year ago, it seems the infusions do really work. Glad you are on board with them now as they say they ALSO have an anti MM effect.

Enjoy the break in treatment. – and the singing.

    Best wishes.

    Mavis x
