Now tell me this then Myfanwy
Why are the hills so bare of sound?
    These tree-shaded curves once layered
With the sigh of birds are barren
    Of song, devoid of melody
    I hear no articulation,
Just the mottled smudge of silence

No more the double speech of Wrens
    The counterpart of Meadow Larks
The wind still whistles and moue?s
But scarcely disturbs the brown hush
    Of autumn's churlish secrecy

And you Myfanwy: what of you?
Does your devotion for these hunched
Fields endure? I hear you still roam
Along the cropped paths in decamped
Dreams with lips that once harmonised
Now bitten and bloodied by tones
Of buzz and blunder, of vapours
Evincing the scent of road rage
