Great and brave stories on the forum, so feel a bit of a fraud! I have only had a diagnosis of the protein in my blood but not urine (hence jones protein). Do have leg pain and reduced kidney function but I am otherwise fit and healthy! Can anyone recall there diagnosis, give any advice, was a surprise from the GP (he was on the money requesting the test). Im of next for a Ultrasound which to me is a bit well confusing.  Any advice thoughts most welcome. kind regards

    Dear Steve.
Im afraid there is not a lot to go on, to give you advice. The ultrasound is probably to scan the kidneys to see if there is anything to explain reduced kidney function(small kidneys or large kidneys) .
Leg pain may or may not be relevant .
More tests for more information …and then appropraite hospital referral?

I had an ultrasound of my kidneys prior to Myeloma diagnosis as I presented with renal failure. Once diagnosed Haematology took over treatment and I am monitored by a joint Renal/Haemotology consultant alongside Haemotology.

As to the leg pain, the feeling I remember in my legs while on treatment I can only describe as having excess energy like I was on the start line ready to run and not able to get comfortable.

    Hi Steve,

My GP was great but it is for sure a waiting game as you go through all the tests.
What my GP initially said was that every answer raised another question and this may be where you are in your journey right now.

    I wish you well.

( I emailed the webteam about the tradestore advert as it looks to appear on lots of posts…inappropriate but I suppose that’s business)

    Kind regards

Thank you Karen, much appreciated, sadly patience not one of my virtues, I think your right and my GP saying the samething really, but this site and forum has helped and I am sure even with a confirmed diagnosis I can cope, there is many far worse off.  As for tradestore yea they found a way in .. great prices tho! 😉 lol.
