Ian will be coming home from hospital on 30 September. It has been 10 months but he is getting stronger and regaining some mobility. I have also put in my notice at work and retire on 10 September.

Busy preparing house alteration for the homecoming. I will be so glad to have him home.

Maureen So glad to hear that Ian is coming home and you retiring 🙂 After a while you will wonder how on earth you managed to combine working with house keeping for all that time

    My very best to Ian

Good news, somehow I don't think you will have a restful retirement. Make the most of it.

    Good news indeed Maureen.

I am sure that the interim time will surely fly… you busy with all things homecoming and Ian weaning himself from the institutionalisation of hospital care. It will be a strange last few weeks or so but the day will come and pass by and then both of you will start finding your 'feet'… and home will establish itself for both of you.8-)

Good luck and I wish you every happiness in the settling in.:-)

    Love to you both.

    Dear Maureen
That is good news, you will be all relaxed from your holiday, retired and ready to enjoy your time together without trailing to the hospital everyday. Have a good holiday.

    Dear Maureen,
I am so so happy for you both: enjoy your new era. Maureen I'm also pleased you're not working anymore – it's so difficult to juggle too many responsibilities. I still miss work and occasionally I teach in my dreams all night. I never dream I get paid though!
    Best,
    Eva

Thanks to all for your good wishes. Ian walked a little more with the zimmer yesterday so he is feeling better about himself and getting home.

I am going to enjoy my few days in Nice and then retire. Don't think I'll miss the alarm going off at 06.45

    Love Maureen x

    Hi Maureen

So glad you have got a date for Ian's discharge. It gives you both something to aim for. Well done for putting your notice in. I'm sure you won't regret it. There is still a lot of living for both of you yet.

    All best wishes.
