Something different for today's offering. I trawled for this one after thinking that I'd love to just walk in for a 'last one' at my favourite watering hole instead of being 'Dexed and Dry'

Although I ran a pub/restaurant for 7 years before MM got me I have never been a big drinker… but I did belong to CAMRA (A Real Ale Society) and enjoyed a couple of good, preservative free pints of the real stuff (and won regional and national awards for providing it as a landlord) 😎

But this song crossed my mind… and the memories of a younger, single me and those long walks home in the rain after staying a bit too late… I'd love to take one now… alas.

Anyway… Have a listen 😀 .

Empty My Head (Do, Be, Do, Do, Do)

Lyrics & Music: Dai Crowther

V1.
They?re closing the bar; I?ve come too far
Cos? my home?s on the other side of this Godforsaken town
I?ve caught my coat on a rusty nail, now I?m unraveling, as I?m a travelling
The last bus, long gone, the taxi curfew kicked in an hour ago

Chorus:
So here I am and here I go; a long way home to my bed
I feel half dead; I need to empty my head
Of the do, be, do ? be, do – be, do – be, do
You know; do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do

V2.
I know where I am; I think I know where I am
Two or three miles, South, South West, of where I need to be (and where I long to be)
I knew it just had to rain; I?ve hardly a thread, to pull over my head
And there?s no chance of hitchin? a ride, cos? there no one out but me

Chorus:
So here I am and here I go; a long way home to my bed
I feel half dead; I need to empty my head
Of the do, be, do ? be, do – be, do – be, do
You know; do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do

Bridge:
And I can?t think of a single song, to comfort me as I roll along
Except, of course, that tuneless hum; be, do, be, do, do, do
Do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do
Do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do

Chorus/Tag/Outro
So here I am and here I go; a long way home to my bed
I feel half dead; I need to empty my head
Of the do, be, do ? be, do – be, do – be, do
You know; do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do
Do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do
You know; do, be do, do, do – be, do, – be, do – be, do, do, do

Ah, it is the Sunday shakedown… maintenance on the site.. it has happened before. I can't get it here either… I am sure it will work fine (again) by tonight.

I love micro breweries… they are an art form and you get to be very close and personal with the beers.8-)

Dai.
