I didn't post many here and it took nearly all of my allowable extension but I'm there – target reached.
FAWM – (FEBRUARY IS ALBUM WRITING MONTH) is a non-competitiv international song writing challenge set up to help galvanise songwriters into shaking off the blues of winter and any cloying ennui or writer's block. I did it in 2009 but nothing again until this year. I really, really needed to do it… and with a month's grace for circumstances beyond my control, I achieved my goal… and I am feeling pretty good about that. The 14 songs include pop, rock, country and jazz funk… this one is an indie pop effort.
Here's my last, the 14th. Now into the studio (dining room).
Dai.
FAWM 14 – Wake Up
1.
Nudge your dreams aside, its time to wake
I?d like to say the sun is shining
But its not, so I won?t
No you don?t, no you don?t
You can?t go back to sleep, its time to rise
2.
Love on my windowsill, taken on the wing
Oh, I?d like to do the same
But I can?t, so I shan?t
No you don?t, no you don?t
You can?t go back to sleep, its time to rise, rise, rise
Chorus:
And here we are, Aligning Capricorn with Libra
And it seems to me the news is good today
We could love and sleep, love and sleep, love and sleep
But I really think we should go out to play
Oh, oh, oh
Raincoats, hats and galoshes, find a puddle make some splashes
We can walk all day and then make love
Under whatever weather falls from the sky above
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up

Bridge:
You?ve got very lazy bones, did you know that, did you, did you
And big lazy eyes that suddenly burn bright
But as it happens I love the very bones of you
And I hope to make your eyes burn bright again tonight
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
Tag:
Raincoats, hats and galoshes, find a puddle make some splashes
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
And I hope to make your eyes burn bright again tonight
It?s a plan; I know I can
No you don?t, no you don?t
You can?t go back to sleep, its time to rise, rise, rise
Wake up!
