Hair highlights on IRD treatment

    This may seem rather a trivial question:

    Has anyone risked having non-bleach highlights while on IRD (Ixazomib, Revlamid and Dexamethasone) treatment or similar? This treatment is not said to cause hair loss but can thin the hair and irritate the scalp. We have a couple of family weddings coming up and I am thinking I would love to get my hair highlighted but it would be awkward if it didn’t go well… Maybe the best solution is to wear a hat…but I just wondered if anyone out there has given it a try and found their hair was fine after highlights?

    Hi Sandy123,
    I’m afraid I don’t have any direct experience on this but my understanding is that it isn’t advised as can accelerate thinning and scalp irritation. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
    Whatever you decide, I am sure you will look fabulous and I hope you have a great time at the weddings x
