I’ve had Myeloma since September 2016, although thankfully I’m now in remission. I am interested to learn if it has affected others in a similar manner, and if so, how other people cope.

The myeloma has mainly affected my spine, causing 11 fractures (now repaired) and a loss of nearly three inches in height.

(I think) that because of the height loss, my various internal organs have less room in which to sit. Thereby causing me great discomfort. I have folds of skin jostling for position above a protruding belly area. Relief from this only comes when I lie flat on my back in bed!

It’s currently worse then usual due to a little over indulgence over the holiday period.

Has any myeloma sufferer any ideas on remedial action I can take?

    Hello

I had collapsed vertebra which has caused me to to lose about two inches in height. I am rather bent over and do not look very nice on the beach.

My back is somewhat painful but not as bad as it was. The bone doctor said an operation could improve my back but that it would be better just to cope with it as it is. At my age I do not like the idea of an operation.
