Hi. I’m new here. I’ve been being tested for lupus for over a year now. I just recently got tested for cryoglobulins. I Googled that and it said a bunch of stuff about blood cancer, so now I’m curious. I can’t find much info about the test and it seems to rarely come back positive. How long does it take to get the results for a cryo test?

I was tested because my feet are visibly not right- toes are grayish purple, with red sores that hurt to walk or even wear shoes. My legs change colors, grayish purple web-like pattern all the way up. Cold makes them much worse. Hands have recently started to get sores too but nowhere near as bad as my feet. They have been like this for years. I’m thinking my cryo test will be positive since all my clotting tests have come back normal and my doctor basically said this is the last test.

I’ve had a bunch of blood work done. My ANA was positive, 640, speckled and diffuse patterns. CBCs all normal as far as I know, but very low end of normal for my RBCs. Positive for thyroid antibodies. Very low vitamin D. I can give other results if those are important. Mainly just curious how long it takes for cryo test results to come back.

    Hi.

    Welcome to the forum.

I’ve not come across Lupus or Cryoglobulins on here before. So I did a little research and found out about Lupus here – http://www.lupusuk.org.uk and saw some of the same drugs are used in it’s treatment as are used in treating myeloma. When I read up on Cryoglobulins I noticed Multiple Myeloma was mentioned. Like I said I’ve not come across either before.

As to how long your blood test results will take it varies on where you get tested. Some of my tests come back the same day another takes a couple of days but I know other members of this forum can wait a week or more for results.

We have a help line on here they maybe able to help or point you in the right direction.

    Best of luck.

    Every day is a gift.

    Andy.
