Woke up after a long doze on Sunday afternoon with a temp of 38.7… I hadn't had much to drink since breakfast so I guzzled liquids and came down to 37.5 before taking a couple of paracetamol. It hung around 37.5 all evening so I took another couple off paracetamol at 11pm before settling down. Woke at 7am with a temp of 39.3… so I phoned in (I had a consult at 11am) and was told to come in at 8am.

We got in at 8.15 and had bloods taken before seeing the consultant. She said that although my bloods were not too bad I could not have my second Bendamustine Infusion of Cycle 2 because they might drive me into being neutropenic. She said we would move onto Cycle 3 when it was due and then admitted me.

So here I am… 24 hours of I V anti-biotics and home today… But my HGB had dropped from 9.3 to 7.3 between Monday am and Tuesday am… So blood tonight and hopefully home tomorrow.

Btw… They got my temp back to normal in an hour and it has stayed normal ever since. Many test but no clue as to the temp spike… There you go. :-/

    Hi Dai
Hope you are recovered from your latest trip to hospital and your bloods are good. I think temperature spikes with no discernible causes are a norm for MM.
I was at the day unit today for blood tests, zometa and to pick up my next cycle of drugs.
Keith was admitted to hospital Monday with a chest infection and was still in today lets hope he gets out soon.

    All the best

    Hi Dai,

Well what a mixed bag…..these light chains, never know where you are with them but at least they've gone down a bit even though they were higher than you'd first thought….does that make sense?

What a great win Wales had against France…….France for the wooden spoon, is that possible. Next is myeloma beaten into touch and a treatable curable condition…..roll on 🙂

    Hi All,

Thank you for your continuing support and encouragement.:-)

I am feeling a lot better in myself, GCSF injections completed, 3 antibiotics finished so it's wait and see on Monday whether or not my Neutrofils are up and over the 1.0. I have another rest week before Cycle 3 and so the Neuts have to get up to at least 1.5 otherwise they will be driven down to Neutrpenic levels by the Chemotherapy… I don't know at what level the consultant will allow for treatment to continue but with such encouraging signs it would be a great pity if I was not allowed to continue at this stage. Still, I remain hopeful.8-)

Yes Vicki, France for the wooden spoon and Wales for the Championship (Triple Crown and Grand Slam done for by Ireland). England will have a lot of confidence for the Slam now and they do look good but Wales are looking more like the team of last year and won't give up the ghost quite yet.;-)

    Regards to all

    Dai.

    Hi Daily,

Agree with Tom, you are always an inspiration and I think of you as one of the key players on the site so you have got to keep going strong in spite of all the hi coughs.

Love to you and Janet. It is strange, but helpful, to have all these friends we never meet. I find myself having more and more cyber friends. Since tentatively joining Facebook I have rekindled quite a lot of of old friendships!
