My sister is experiencing problems finding anything to drink that doesn’t taste disgusting and makes her nauseous post stem cell transplant.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, I think this is a common problem, even water tasted horrible to me so drinking the recommended 2-3 litres a day was difficult. I found Ribena the best, the original version not the sugar free. My taste did return to normal after a few weeks.

I drank soda water which really helped settle a feeling of nausea and Robinson’s Lemon Barley Water.

Thanks for the replies – ribena seems to be the best option.  She is being sick after every meal which is the only thing that is stopping her from going home. Did anyone else have this?

Yep, the sickness lasted for 6 weeks for me, even with 3 different anti-nausea tablets. Quite horrible but eventually it did go away! Hope she feels better soon

Did you have to stay in hospital all that time or did they let you out?

I found they gave my husband the anti sickness pill to near his meal!!!!
If it’s taken half an hour before a meal it settles the gut,so that might be worth trying, and yes some hospitals keep you in until you can hold down your food,Slim just lied!!!! But that was Slim.
