My naturopath has suggested that I give myself subcutaneous injections of a mistletoe extract which is often used in Germany for cancers other than myeloma.  My understanding is that it gives the patient a high fever which is uncomfortable for the cancer cells.  That the fever is extremely high, very nearly brain-damaging high, makes me uneasy.  I wonder if anyone has any knowledge or experience with this treatment.  Searching for “mistletoe” came up blank;  I’m guessing that it is not mainstream.

Talk to your hospital consultant first, see what she/he thinks about it. Personally I’d be very sceptical.

The oncologist had never heard of it.  Another worker in that department said it sounded like voodoo.
