    Hi,

I recall hearing at MUK info days and in articles I read that anyone with kidney damage should avoid NSAIDS. I’m currently taking lenalidomide, along with Ixazomib and Dexamethasone. I have amyloidosis as well add Myeloma, and when diagnosed with MM in August 2013, my kidneys were leaking protein. This however seems to have lessened/stopped following 2 lines of treatment: Velcade, adriamycin, dexamethsone (padimac trial); lenalidomide & Dex in prep for SCT; and SCT. (3 lines of you include the prep for sct).

1st time I took lenalidomide I got clexane injections to prevent blood clots; this time my Consultant has given me daily aspirin 75mg. Although I’d prefer to take aspirin rather that daily clexane injections, I’m concerned that it is A NSAID, considering my past kidney damage. I’m wondering if I’m being concerned needlessly. I did ask my consultant about this and was told aspirin isn’t a NSAID, however searching online tells me it is. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone?

    Thanks,

    Jan
