    Hi everyone,

My dad (71 years old) was diagnosed with MM last September. Since then, he has been on the D-VrD regime and has responded well. He just had his stem cell transplant in early Feb and is recovering at home (albeit losing heaps of weight). While he is recovering well, our oncologist broached the topic of a clinical trial using oral iberdomide vs oral lenalidomide. Reading the literature, the former seems be to promising. I am not sure if we should reserve this treatment for when his MM relapses but i suppose that is a judgement call.

However, would like to ask if anyone had any experience with iberdomide please? For example, side effects, early results etc? Very much appreciated!

    Hi gingergine,
I had a Stem Cell Transplant at St.Barts Hospital,London in November. I recently had my 100 day post transplant consultation, where I was told I had achieved a very good partial response.
I was then informed that I could apply for the Iberdomide trial – they call it ‘Excaliber phase III’ at Barts.
I have to tell them if I want to take part within the next couple of weeks. My thinking is that I probably will sign up for it because 1) in the phase I & II trials already done, it appears that Iberdomide gives longer remission & less nasty side effects than Lenalidomide; and 2) you will get much more closely monitored on the trial compared to not being on it.
I did also contemplate not having any ‘maintenance’ treatment & just doing ‘watch & wait’ – as I have read about people keeping their cancer at bay with healthy diet and exercise only, but I don’t think I can trust my body to do that without more pills!

    Hi Steadyeddy
Thanks for sharing your experience and i am glad to hear you had a very good partial response. Thanks also for sharing your considerations. I have passed it on to my dad. I suppose I was wondering if it would be better to be on lena so when my dad relapses, he can fall back onto iberdomide. I think the number of drugs in Singapore is more limited than in the US, UK, and Europe (so I heard).
