    Hi John,

My Mum has the infusions regularly and has not suffered any side effects. I think some people can feel a bit 'fluey' after the first one but she didn't even have this (she is 83). Overall I am sure the infusions are very helpful in helping to keep the bones strong – and quite a few older people have them to help with osteoporosis as well as myeloma.

Hope all goes well for your wife,

    Jill

    Hi John

I had four weely infusions of Zometa for just over two years, at the start I got Flue symptoms nothing too bad, its just that I was pleased when they finnished as my veins were getting harder to use :-S
But that also worked for me.
    Good Luck

    Hi John

My hubby had Zometa for 2 years back in 2006. He then started it again in June and on both occasions he has had no side effects at all. Hope all goes well for your wife

    Hi John

I started on tablet bisphosphonates over two years ago and then went onto infusions of zometa. I have had no side effects from them. The only problem is, if you need invasive dental treatment, which I did, you have to have zometa knocked off for two month before and two months afterwards. This is to prevent getting the disease in your jaw bone, which is a possible side effect.

    All good wishes.

    Mavis
