Hubby diagnosed in jan this year he has a lot of damage to his back and neck wears a collar to protect neck and walks with a crutch and very slow due to his back problems. initially awarded daily living only then asked for mandatory review and was awarded low rate mobility. however I feel he should be on enhanced living rate and just putting stuff together for formal appeal hearing.

Anyone managed to get higher rate and at what point have people applied under the DS15000.

we did apply for contribution based employment support allowance as he working part time for local supermarket (retired fire fighter on pension) this has been denied due to occupational pension.

as hubby has just gone into his first relapse just as finishing initial treatment friends have said we should be able to apply under the special rules arrangement for PIP but the way our luck is going that will be refused…..

    any info would be good.

<p style=”text-align: right;”>Yes  I managed to get allowance for my wife last January despite hospital fininacial consultant saying that couldn’t get it. Important to read all questions correctly and put as much information as possible giving fullest picture. I think what made a huge difference for my wife was a signed hospital letter explaining her condition and no way she could work. You have to fight for these benefits despite what people may say and sometimes sadly it’s the luck of th draw</p>
