I am about to start my 4th cycle of Pomalidomide although I am feeling a little downhearted at the moment. I saw my consultant yesterday and it appears that my pps haven’t fallen since I started this treatment. They were 20 then and they are 20 now which is not the sort of result I was hoping for.  These results were from bloods taken after cycle 2 so here’s hoping that Pom is just a slow starter and I’ll see something positive happening soon.

Anyway, is there anyone else on this site who is taking Pomalidomide ?If so, how are you doing? I have been one of the lucky ones so far and responded positively to each and every new treatment so it’s something of a shock to not respond to this, although my lovely consultant is very upbeat about it all and insists it is doing something if it’s keeping my pps steady.

    Hi Sue
I have just started round 6 sand my opinion has c one down from 13 to 3 – phew! We were getting worried as nothing else seemed to be working for me until pomalidomide was offered.

The side effects are very little now it’s. into my system – in fact, the Dec is far worse!

Hope your ‘pp. comes down SOON

    Love Carol xxx x

    Hi Carol,

Thanks for replying. I was starting to think I was the only person in the UK on Pom seeing as I had no replies!

So glad to hear that Pom is working for you. As I said, I am one of the lucky ones as each new treatment has been highly effective for me. That’s why I was growing so downhearted when the Pom failed to do anything. That plus the horrendous muscle pain and stiffness I have been suffering from. However, I am relieved to say that the pain etc is starting to ease off. I am on cycle 5 so maybe it needs a certain length of time before the drug starts to work. I’ve no idea if it’s zapped my pps yet – they were still at 20 the last time – so I shall have to wait another couple of weeks to find out.  Fingers crossed!

    Best,

    Sue
