Went to see my consultant yesterday, post 100 days since STC. He has been very pleased with my progress throughout, although he did not have my blood results from yesterday, everything is looking good. He did say that hopefully I may get a long remission, so, does this mean that I am in remission????? I should have asked…….
The only medication I am on is co-trimoxazole, antibiotics(every weekend) infusion of Zolendronate every four weeks, and calcichew-D. Back to work this coming Monday, can’t wait.

Hi Ann, Congratulations on your results and going back to work – normal life resumes hopefully for you! Hope you have fantastically well deserved long remission and manage to shut myeloma away in a box.
I should be going back to work in March after SCT but am hoping to spin it out so I can enjoy a bit of nice weather – think I deserve it (I obviously do not have a very satisfying job!)

    Morning Rebecca
Thanks for your reply. I have just picked up my fit note to start work this coming Monday, it seems strange that things are getting back to some sort of normality after a year, I am on the wait and watch list now, but I am going to try and not think about it coming back, (if that is possible) ha!
I do find it strange wanting to go back to normality, am I just burying my head in the sand and pretending that nothing has happened?????
I don’t blame you having extra time off work, after all, you have to look after number one now.
    All the best to you

    Hi Ann

Congratulations on your great news and on returning to work!
I am so happy for you

I was told in December that I was in remission and thought that I would just forget about Myeloma and get on with my life but that’s proving more difficult than I thought

You are doing the right thing I think, getting back to normality

I hope that it lasts for a very long time!

    Kind regards
    Chris
