I’m newly diagnosed with Myelona and did to start Dara-VRD regime prior to stem cell transplant. Am keen to hear what side effects this treatment is causing anyone please so I can be prepared x

On my first bout of Chemo I received Daratumamab & Velcade back in 2022.

The only side effect I experienced was what looked like blood and bruising under the skin from time to time but nobody seemed concerned.

I suffered from Rugby players knee and ankle, both in the left leg. But after this treatment and right up to today these have given me no pain at all.

I mentioned that maybe these two compounds could work like Viagra did for blood pressure and that it could cure arthritis but again nobody listened 🙄

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Treatment side effects vary enormously.

I think that the most common side effects are:
– Fatigue
– Sleeplessness after taking dexamethazone
– Brain fog
– Gastrointestinal issues (diarrhoea and/or constipation).

I had all those (roughly in order of frequency and severity).
I personally had an erratic heartbeat a few times (but I already had a dodgy heart anyway).

My more important message is: this too shall pass. I was diagnosed in 2022, had Dara-VRD, but no transplant (which could have put a strain on my heart). I am still in remission: just back from a tough gym workout as I type this!
