Hi folks can anyone out there offer some advice? My Husband has been on CDT these past 5 months at first 3-4 months no rash then suddenly developed a scaly red rash on face, head and upper torso shoulders in particular!
His Consultant says its a steroid rash!! It actually goes away when he’s on his Dex but comes back after 2 days post Dex !!
If anyone else has experienced similar would appreciate any advice ie is there a topical cream or lotion he can use to help, at the minute he looks a bit like “Lizard Man !!”

Hi,

Is he taking allopurinol? Reason for asking is that this gave my Mum a terrible rash and she had to stop it, I think quite a few people have this problem.

Seems strange that it would go away while on the Dex if this was causing it.

Hi,

I had 4 courses of CTD. After 2 weeks came out in a similar rash. Stopped allopurinol and co-trimoxozole(teamm trial) and problem solved. I was put on dapsone as a replacement for allopurinol with no problems. Is your husband taking either of them?
