I was told today i need one A grade session of radiotherapy, this apparently will be enough to reduce pain and hopefully kill tge cancer cells. I am then having an appointment to discuss chemotherapy, having bloods again tomorrow but last ones showed paraprotein levels of 13 which i though wasnt too bad , my plasma cells in a bone marrow biopsy showed 8-10 % which again is border line. Going by this what kind treatment/drugs can i expect and will there be side effects. I have children aged 10 and 13 and also currently work full time. Many thanks for any replies.

I was diagnosed in 2020 and on 1st relapse suffered a plasmacytoma which was 12 cm diameter. I was given 1 big dose of Radiotherapy with no side effects other than nausea shortly after having radiotherapy. Plasmacytoma shrank away in 2 or 3 weeks.
Hope that is reassuring and good luck with treatment

    Hi John

I have received more news today that i now have deposits on tops of both legs and on an area of my spine. I am to start treatment in a couple of weeks , my paraprotein is low at 12.1 and bone marrow biopsy showed 8-10 % plasma cells .. does any of this relate to you ? The radiotherapy left me a little nauseous and pains in legs but only for a few days.
