Well went to SCT coordinator on Monday and Geoff is having central line fitted next Monday. GCSF Injections Good Friday to Easter Monday then SCT harvest 2-3 April. As long as we get enough cells SCT planned for 17 June.

    Hi Jacquie,

    That's dates and a plan… and a comprehensive plan at that. 😀

I can only wish Geoff the best of good fortune at every stage of the plan and hope that your nerves hold out, especially as the SCT grows nearer.:-/ 😀

Remember that we are here to help explain and share experiences of each of the processes and procedures… some years old and some days fresh… you will be glad you asked and soon you will be explaining and sharing yourselves.8-)

That's the way it goes. 🙂

    Regards and best wishes

    Dai.

    Hi Jacquie

Congratulations ,just go with the flow,as every one says it is doable, harvesting stem cells is a bit of a haul, let's hopeitjust takes a day, things just fall into place from then on,all hospitals are different how they deal with SCT.

The only advice I can give you is,do not go out and buy new night clothes, plus take in you own cup as hospital cups are small if you cannot eat ,just make sure you keep your fluid up,and make sure you take sickness tablets at least 15 min before meals eat what you fancy, the same with drink..
Good Luck with the SCT .Eve

    Hi jacqui and Geoff,

Wishing you both so much luck with this…..it is nerve wracking. Are you doing the gcsf injections yourselves or is the nurse coming in? Bristol are quite particular about the timings because apparently gcsf has a 12 mobilisation shelf life or something like that?

June does seem like a long way away, but as long as those cells are in the bag that's all that matters :-). Just keep calm and the staff at Southmead are so lovely (say hi to Debbie and Sally from Vicki and Colin) if they are around. They are so kind and reassuring. It is nerve wracking because its the unknown……but you will both cope as we did, although its b hard 🙂 sometimes.

Good luck with the 2 million plus!

Nurses have been great and on time! Just hope the count is right Tuesday morning at Southmead. Will pass on your best wishes to the nurses. Hope Colin is doing well too.
