I had an appointment with my consultant yesterday in Preston. It co-incided with being day 2 of a new pharmacy computer sysyem. When I eventually receive my “drugs” later in the chemo suite, I ended up with a bag full of meds I didn’t need and will not be taking. I received an anti-coagulant having already explained that I take Rivaroxaban prescribed by my cardiologist, a tub of anti-biotics as a prophylactic (I do not take anit-biotics unnecessarily), large amounts of Aceclovir, having been told previously that I didn’t need them, Rantidine, in case, just in case my stomach gets upset. Apparently the new system cannot as yet be overridden. What a waste.
On a more positive side I asked the consultant how long I would be on the Revelmid (lenolidomide) and he said it was likely I would be on it long term and that it could be tolerated for years.
