I'm exhausted just thinking about it liz….medication, injections, thermometers….clacton on sea sounds good (no offence to clacton :-)). You have a great time, all the usual precautions and a bit extra from the consultant 🙂
Enjoy

Hi Helen
So pleased to hear that your back is no mm, those slipped discs are painful too though! Glad to hear you've got a solution with the hair. Have you considered different colour….again but with less peroxide in. I am sure there are Eco bleaches cos there was that scare about pregnant women dying hair? Not seen my hairdresser friend but…[Read more]

Hi Helen
Like you, our one son started uni 4 weeks after my SCT and the other a year later. We hardly see them now they are living away from home, until they return for holiday periods or phone us for money, help with accommodation problems or lifts back home.
You are right, you never seem to stop worrying about them. You try to offer…[Read more]

Hi Sandie
I think your mom at aged 87 is coping really well with taking her drugs and still managing to look after herself with your help. I know I would have struggled without my husband's help, especially dealing with the side effects of fatigue and bone pain. My husband had to take over all of the cooking, cleaning, washing, etc because I…[Read more]

Hi Helen
I can completely understand your comments about how much you should tell your son about your myeloma relapse especially with his forthcoming exams. Whilst I was going through CTD treatment, my one son was revising and taking his AS levels and the other his A level retakes.
The eldest son was absolutely fine with his A levels,…[Read more]

Last lap now before the getting better bit, slowly and surely. Not an easy ride but get the hard bit over and you can start looking to the future. If brother in law has any worries or questions he can post on geoffs behalf….and I old stagers can help where we can 🙂
Who says onwards and upwards 🙂

Hi Helen,
Re the hair…..can't you have a colour on it that has less bleach in it? There must be Eco friendly blonde colours out there as some people are allergic to the bleach. I will ask my friend hair dresser and see what she says….worth spending even more money on the hair and shoes etc if it makes you feel better. Get your daughter to…[Read more]

Hi Emma,
So glad to hear you mum is out of hospital and treatment has been effective 🙂 I can understand your mum needing to build her confidence but she has done so well, I also understand your worry about when is it going to come back 🙁 I am the same for Colin but trying so hard to push it from my mind so that we can enjoy ourselves…[Read more]

On my initial Zometa infusion, I certainly felt ill several days later with increased bone pain, fever and…[Read more]

Hi Ann
It is strange, yet comforting, that we all experience so many similar situations with myeloma. My husband also arranged a spread sheet for each cycle of tablets. We now have a graph to monitor my light chain levels! But the most useful gift which I was given by my mom was an A5 pill box in which I could place a week's supply of tablets…[Read more]

Only since my shock diagnosis of myeloma three years ago, I've realised that I have needed to talk about the elephant in the room in order to ensure my partner knows my thoughts about my wishes. However, it's not just one conversation, but an on going series of little discussions and comments
I must admit most of the discussions have come…[Read more]
