I am 65 and refuse to grow old gracefully I wear purple and bright pink and I dont think a colour rinse comes amiss now and again dont think much differently from when i was 40 only on the days when i had DEX which turned me into a tyrant not on any treatment at the moment things do get a bit better 😉 I had CDT not VCD bit the same I suppose

we have just got back from Majorca I must say some sunshine and a few Sangria,s did me the world of good its funny how well we can get relaxed if we take the chance and have a holiday

sorry you have been so ill the steriods had the reverse effect on me i put on 2 stone I was on 120 mgs a week I am glad sugers are back to normal i hoped they would do
in america they use prednisolone steriod if people cannot take dex its much gentler not as agressive as DEX I have it for my kidneys at the moment and dont get many side effects from it you couls ask your consultant about it

I understand your shock same thing happened to me my creatinine was 597
i was being prepared for dialisys but my kidney consultant gave me a chance put me on a high dose of sodium bicarb and along with the high dose of steriod my kidneys improved a bit he waited to see what would happen so i have just avoided for the time being the dialysis i have bet 15 and 20% kidney function but i know just a simple infection could knock them out completely i am with you I know MM is terrible but i felt worse about my kidneys and still do its like the sword of damaclese is hanging over me every time i go to the clinic because i felt like you do no life and no freedom

sorry you are still feeling under the weather I had hoped you would be clear now I was speaking to a lady at my support group about revlimid she has been on it for four years the side effect she used to get an upset tummy she was always on the Loo her consultant gave he a drug similiar to immodium and this has solved the problem hope this info may be of some use to you

this sounds like good news as soon as you are off DEX the sugars will level out how are you getting on with the insulin did you know once the sugar levels are down and stay down you can come off insulin the diabetic team are always keen for you to stay on it but you will find one or two tablets will do i came off for ages until they put me on a small dose of steriod for my kidneys I manage ok but would rather not have it but I have been diabetic for 20 years so my case is a bit different until MM I was a very well controled diabetic with nothing else wrong with me those were the days keep up the good work:-)

S0 Sorry you have had to join this forum the diagnosis must have been such a shock for you which I dont think anyone truly gets over
the tingling in his hands can happen to a lot of people when having the chemo is he on Dex if so that is what cause the sleeplessness its a very common side effect if it gets too bad he must tell his consultant they may need to check the dose it may need adjusting

so sorry to hear you have relapsed already that a bit of a blow I have been reading about bendamustine i think you are lucky to be on a trial they have had really good results in America so it all sounds hopeful fingers crossed for you dont let it interupt your golf try and keep well
