    Hello Peggy
We have been away to a B&B twice this year one in Scotland and one in Swanage both times people have asked to keep medication in the fridge if you phone some of these b&b's or hotels they will tell you in advance if it is possible or you could hire a cottage they always have a fridge if you want to go abroad there is a cold pack people use for insulin for travelling that also could be ok GOOD LUCK

    hello Eve

nice to hear from you we have a few days away this week in the New Forest I hope it stays dry.
I love the theatre but not in love with musicals but Geoff is so I treated him he does so much for me he deserved a treat, then I scratched the car and he didnt moan so another treat is due!!
I am still in Plateau only 5% mm cell in my marrow not due another PEP test until end of march so fingers cross if I am clear at the end of april we will book a week somewhere in the Med, we used to love adventure holidays I had my 60th birthday in a camp in the middle of the Amazon jungle in Peru but all that is out of the question now
    Regards to Slim

    Hi Eve and Slim
sorry slim is not feeling so well I hope it is just a blip after coming off meds I felt a lot of withdrawal symptoms when I came off CDT I think the drugs have to work there way out of the system I havn't slept as well since not having Thalidomide. I am still lucky enough to be in Plateau I don't know how long for so fingers crossed the kidneys have now settled down after the food poisoning which nearly finished me off next PEP test march so I have time off at the moment for good behavour AS I have 5% MM cells in my marrow they say good partial remission nothing more but thats better than nothing
    Love to you both Jo

    hello Glenn
I dont think we ever really get over the shock ''why me '' I am a bit older than you I retired early one day ok next day in hospital with renal failure double pnuemonia and MYELOMA that was three years ago I managed with the thalidmide and have been in remmission for nearly three years I didnt have an SCT( my choice )as my kidneys were so bad. I was in clinic the other day talking to a man who was diagnosed in 1997 he had an SCT which lasted for nearly five years since then he has been on medication only and none except zometa at the moment so that cheered me up no end
    Good luck with the treatment
    Love Jo
