so sorry to hear about Steve it must be such a worry for you both I read a lot about STC and decided to take my chances with the new drugs CDT first which gave me just over three and a half years remission now on Velcade after 5 cycycles now O paraprotiens hoping for a long break again I have read in the US they are moving away from STC dont whats right but food for thought

sounds horrendous can you change your hospital and consultant it sounds like you should what are these people about where i go i get to see graphs of all my results you just need to know or you feel in limbo good luck

how are you keeping well i hope,its good news someone is looking for a cure for us I really feel it will happen at least to turn this horrid disease into a chronic complaint i am doing ok on velcade 0 para's after 5 cycles so now its consolidation hoping for a long remission

what a sickening result I have often queried ny test results at my local hospital and yes a few have been wrong they got me at 0 paras on one test just after i had been to UCH which was a completly different reading showing i needed to start treatment so another test also my local hosp will not do a light chains test which is the best way to measure my MM makes you worry hope everything gets sorted

and welcome not a place you would really want to join but you will get much help and advice here I think they will be talking about paraprotiens which are measures of how bad your Myeloma is 17 is not so bad it was a lucky visit to the opticians for you the anaemia part could be your blood count is low Myeloma can cause this and you probably aanaemic I was when first diagnosed needed 7 units of blood and have remained anaemic but i now have EPO to keep my levels up Good luck

you are right Eve the bluebells are beautiful at the moment the woods near us are one carpet of blue and the smell is heavenly it gives you a lift just to see it I am glad Slim managed to get into the woods, any news on his scan! yet are you keeping well

sorry they could not get enough of those little devils so better luck next time. gave up on my hair and had it all cut off so now its just wash and go my grandson said the other day when looking at photo's i like that one you had hair then gave me a big kiss so kids are cool:-P if they love you is doesnt matter

I think this is good news if anything it will buy you a bit of time i am glad your nuets are good and the purdah can end I have the velcade subcut once a week much less side effects PN etc after my sixth cycle UCH want me
to have velcade once every two weeks stretching it it out to 9 cycles less agressive they say then thalidomide maintenance 50mgs after that hope it works get PP results next monday so fingers crossed
