I am on the 5th cycle and after the 6th UCLH want me to go on fortnightly velcade and extend the regime to 9 cycles instead of 8 I hope it works can only give it a go:-Dhope you enjoy your trip to see your daughter

If you can afford it why not I am not a great house wife if you dont move things you dont notice the dust we go out a lot if we can Your results sound good so perhaps not much longer for treatment I am on cycle5 get swollen ankles a bit but ok other wise the graduates sound fun they must have tsken you under their wing a surrgate granny. I will be 66 in June so we are not too far apart going for another colour next week!!!

my MM journey was diagnosis in Jan 2009 pneumonia' renal failure and MM had CDT which gave me 3 and a half years remission kidneys still only 20% but hanging on started Velcade at the end of last year hoping to get a good remission again this is very much a personal journy I think at your mums age she needs to take her time and take the best advice from her consultant I was 61.5 when i first got ill i didnt go for an SCT as it would have probably destroyed my kidneys didnt want to risk it

i am so glad he is doing well what relief after all the worry all daughters dont like shopping I have two and they hate shopping so I have to go with my sister in law shes a shopaholic! by the time i have spent half a day with her it puts me off for weeks!!!! hope you are keeping well

well a new journey begins i am keeping my fingers crossed for you that everything goes well you are braver than me I do hope your kidneys come though ok but you have to take the risk as the chemo wasnt working for you
at the end of the day we have to do what it takes:-P

I am also on the same regime as you no real side effects except my ankles swell a bit just a bit of fluid retention so not so bad hate the dex though
I am diabetic so it really plays my sugars up but i can cope with that

sorry I cannot help with the Zometa as I dont have it but some people have reported flu like sysmptoms when they first get it but i think they settle down after a while

I was the same as your mun resistant to the first two antiB'S the good old IV penicillin some times the old drugs are still best how is your mum doing ok now i hope

go ahead and blub why not we all do because terrible mm dont give up hope loads of new treatments coming on stream my husband is my carer he does get a bit depressed but he will be with me all the way as i am sure your wife will be for you so try and look forward as someone said to me the other day if you are a good poker player you make the best of a bad hand
