Hi Gina
I have to say I do not think I would be waiting 2 weeks for treatment.Your mum must feel they have given up on her,I know i felt like that with Slim at one time.
If you ask to speak to your consultant, they should be able to arrange something even a telephone call, they usually get together as a team to decide treatment,so might be worth…[Read more]

Dear Sarah
I am so sorry that things are piling up in such an aweful way for you while your grief for Gordon is so raw.
You are strong and you will get through. What a good job you and your son can support one another.
Just had a strange experience – twice when I tried to post with a couple of other comments it said "your message…[Read more]

Hi Gina
So sorry this year is getting worse for your Mum and the family. It does sound as if your Mum is getting worn out with MM, the side effects and the treaments. I do hope tht her lungs do clear to give her some relief. If they don't it may be you will need to face a decision from her not to have any more streatment. I agree with…[Read more]

Hi Alison
You have joined a good group who are just like you and will be there to support you,and offer wisdom and comfort, and in the middle you will find you will be able to smile laugh and cry.
It,s a bit of a shock to the system I would not have dreamed in a million years of posting on a site like this, but I cannot tell you how much it has…[Read more]

Hi Gina
As you know Slim has been very ill,his weight went down to 63kgs,it is now 66,which is great,do not let them take the easy option unless that is what your mum want, attitude of mind is a great thing ,your mum does not want to be a burden ,she has to find the will to live.
I think you have to ask them straight out about your mums lungs,if…[Read more]

Dear Gina your poor mum must be longing to get rid of whatever is making her feel so dreadful . I am surprised they have not admitted her , or would she not want that. It soeems a long time to have to wait 2 weeks before you see the consultant I think if I were in your shoes I would get hold of the specialist nurse and ask all the questions that…[Read more]

Hi Bridget
What surprises me Bridget is the turn round of what we were told when we saw consultant,I checked about bone marrow every cycle twice, then yesterday same nurse, said in a few months, that,s why i want it checked out.8cycles,3weeks cycle equals 6 months of treatment,Slims just done 6 months on CDT.
I need to know is this the same for…[Read more]

Hi Eve regarding the results following treatment as in Slims case and doctors wanting to wait until the end before doing bone marrow or is it a scan they are going to do? Often the results from these drugs take time to settle so rather than testing several times they prefer to give it time to level out As it is only a few weeks its unlikely to do…[Read more]
