Hi Mari
I know110 for Platelets is low,but Slims have never been above 50,so I have given in worrying when he walks into a door or knocks himself, apart from wrapping him in cotton wool,I cannot do any more, and my attitude is if internal bleeding is the danger, why is no one very concerned.!!!!
I would agree they need to be very stubborn just to…[Read more]

Hi Mike
Well as you know, the patient does not get much choice,it,s either trials or treatment as laid down by NICE and all of this is still a post code lottery, If you are lucky and can find a Haemotologist that has a special interest in Myeloma and also has some perspective about the awful damage and pain it causes, physically and…[Read more]

Hang on in there, Keith!
When I started to try and drink 2-3 litres of water a day (in 2003 when I started eating Atkins) I filled 500 mls sports-top bottles and had one with me at all times so I could take a slurp every few minutes.
I found when using the computer that if I made myself take a drink every time the screen refreshed it wasn't…[Read more]

What a productive lady your Mum has proved to be, Ali!!
It took them 3 days to coax just over the bare 2 million of those pesky little cells when I had my harvest! 🙁
I wish your Mum and Dad a lovely few days away and good weather to enjoy it with.

What wonderful news!! I do envy you both.
I had a short stint at being a grandma a long time ago but sadly my husband's children moved away both physically and mentally (due to his ex-wife's attitude towards his remarriage I think) and we have no idea how many grandchildren he has now or where in the world they live.

Hi Liz and Kev
Congratulations on another granddaughter, Myeloma puts everything into perspective, for all the family. Also you appreciate the event a lot more when you thought you would only have the one grandchild.
I hope you have lots of first ahead as a family, first steps, first school, first boyfriend, and lots more. Love Eve

Hi Mike
This is just a welcome to the site:-)
When I read your post,my own immediate thoughts were so selfish, one was we will have our own resident expert,as this is what you would become, you might not know much about Myeloma at present, you will learn, just to prepare yourself[just incase]:-P
Then my thoughts were for you as a person, and I…[Read more]
