    Hi Jo

Welcome to the site. Sorry you have had to join, but at least is sounds as if your partner has responded well to the treatment. You can't beat a zero reading! This gives a very good starting point for the SCT. There will be lots of folk on here who can give you advice about that.

All good wishes to you both.

    Hi Val

My hubby suffers with his legs, not so much cramp or even PN, just very painful, they feel very hard around the calves,I massage his legs as much as possible to take some of the tension from the calves, plus walking seems to help,it seem his leg problem is more effected with the cold.
I will not tell you what Slim suggested, but it had to…[Read more]

    Hi Michele

I can relate to your problem,as we are in the same position,at last we have remission, and waiting on Kings to see if my husband is suitable for SCT,his consultant says although very fit has had pneumonia which has damaged his lungs,so feels it might not be in his interest, but has told us to go to kings, they are the experts,so we…[Read more]

  • Dear Gill what reason do they give for keeping Stephen on Dex? I know it helps a lot with pain relief but there are other drugs that would work too. I am now on Prednisalone which is as effective as Dex but much kinder I havent felt like tearing lumps of anyone since I have been n it . I would have a word with the specialist nurse and explain how…[Read more]

    Hi Gill

Gill you should never feel like that, this is when you need this site the most, because it,s hard to talk to family about it,and most of us carers have earned are stripes with DEX.:-/

I am able to say to Slim is it the DEX talking or Slim and he does calm down, its a bit harder in public ,when he makes a remark that,s uncalled fore. I…[Read more]

    Hi Chrissie

So sorry to hear that David finally lost the battle to live. He certainly gave it his best shot.

Of course you feel realy broken up and wondering how you will cope. It is such early days the pain of your loss will be really acute, and it is almost worse when you have been a very close couple. It is good that David was able…[Read more]

  • Hi Helen

Just caught up with your posts. So sorry John has had such a bad time these past few days – just when you would have liked plain sailing to his SCT. I do hope he bounces back soon.

I expect that trying to work out the connection between MM and other cancers, and how we got MM, is something a lot of us on here do. I had uterine…[Read more]

  • Hi Dai

Just been looking at a site about the trials, sounds very interesting you better hurry up with that 24 hr bottle,as I got the impression that it,s only 700 per country.
Those big bottles get heavy, cannot tell you how many Slim has filled plus they are heavy to carry any distance,so as well as the brown bag it pays to use a couple of…[Read more]

  • Hi Dai

Sorry you have this bereavement to deal with along with everything else. It's so hard to make sense of it.

Hang in there and value each day you are given without feeling guilty as you have so much to cope with.

  • Hi David,

Just know you will get to your 50th Anniversary and much beyond. Let's face it, in the scale of things, even though your PP is measurable, the figures are still very low. Mine is now 13 and still no treatment apart from zometa.

    Onward and upwards as always!
