Is it just in our area that people take up disabled bays without disabled badges? The other week there was a very large car parked sideways across 2 disabled bays at our cottage hospital. This is a small hospital with no A & E facility tucked away down country lanes. So I cannot believe the person that parked there was an A & E casualty.
I have…[Read more]

BLUE BADGE YES YES YES
Chemo YES Cancer YES. Ask your nurse. Phone your local council Stephen (mm) does not use his badge when he feels good & really loves the fact that he feels good. BUT when he is not well he can still get out and a little bit about by being close to shop, restaurant etc.

I have no medical knowledge or training whatsoever but I cannot understand why a picc or hickman line is not fitted as a matter of course. Stephen (mm person) has had a line ever since needing regular bloods taken and medication put in. His current line is attached to his chest with 3 tubes coming out of it (no restriction to any daily task). One…[Read more]

Hi All
I have thought about what I posted and have realised that I am not actually "rude" (at least I don't think so) but maybe have become too honest.
When asked by the server in a multiple eatery where we had breakfasted during a long journey (the one where a chef is tiny) "how is your meal, everything OK?" Instead of my usual reply of…[Read more]

I have always been the person that spills the oil on any waters whether they are troubled or not.
Since Stephen (mm husband) has been ill. I have changed into a What? Monster? A more honest person? ????
Stephen was always the one that did "not suffer fools gladly" and was sometimes far too honest Come on ladies "does my by bum look big in…[Read more]

I don't know if this is the right place to post this because it is not medicinal but boy has it helped.
Stephen has had a very dry mouth. He has been unable to get his mouth to produce much saliva and, as a result, the little that he could eat was h**l (the real word got blocked) to swallow and get down.
He was told that the the radiotherapy…[Read more]

I have only just caught up with your post of Amy. I have fond memories of listening to very talented tribute bands on various holidays. They always seemed to be having a fun time as well as entertaining the holiday makers. She sounds really good and I hope she is having a great time.
Fingers crossed that you get over to see her soon.

Hi Sue
My mm husband, Stephen, came out from hospital over 2 weeks ago after receiving his 2nd SCT. He has not been very well since but we are plodding on.
Trying to get him on a Bendamustine clinical trial was mentioned after Stephen relapsed following his first SCT and his consultant was not aware that he had further stem cells…[Read more]

Hi Sarah
Sorry to hear that Gordon's second SCT has not done the trick. Stephen is seeing his specialist on Friday to find out if his second SCT has helped.
He is feeling quite unwell at the moment so I am worried that the news will not be good. I hope Gordon's new drugs help and wish you both luck
