  • Thank you all so much for your words of encouragement, especially to all the people who have trod this path and have their own battle to fight It means a great deal to have your support. Yes today is better.

I realised a long time ago that if one worries about the time that is left you may as well just throw that time away. I just needed to…[Read more]

  • Hi Min

I am so sorry that you have had a chain of bad news regarding Peter's health. I have my fingers crossed for better news for you.

Nothing about mm is funny but I think I am so stupid I make myself chuckle. When you mentioned tanks I thought Peter kept fish:-/

  • Dear Gaye

Thank you so much for your reply I needed somebody to make me put my sensible hat back on. It just comes as such a shock when you seem to have got some "normal" life back to be told by mm "fooled you there didn't I?"

One more bottle of champagne left and that is staying in the garage until Christmas day. If we get mum in law to…[Read more]

    Hi Pual

It is my husband who has mm and he is the grand old age of 55 Although He has been through all the first line treatment chemo SCT etc I am probably not the best person to talk to as we are of a different age. I do know that there is an under 50 site on here and I am sure that you will get a great deal of support and information from…[Read more]

So pleased that your biopsy was pain free. I know that I have seen my big "Bob the builder Oh it is only a 4 inch gash in my hand/foot whatever put a plaster on it and stop fussing" husband clench his teeth, hands and curl his toes when having a bmb.

The wretched tool they use looks like a giant corkscrew and I remember somebody on here posting…[Read more]

  • Hi Everybody,

It's a bit like the famous Jaws film here "Just when you thought it was safe to go into the water"

We went to see Dr S last night. We had the bottle of champagne in the fridge to come home to as we both knew that Stephen felt fine.

Well doesn't this (worse word you can think of and ends in ing) illness come back to bite us…[Read more]

    Hi Arlene

My husband was 53 when diagnosed in 2008. He had a SCT in the summer of 2009 and has been very well since his transplant and is in total remission. He is due to see his oncologist in a week or so and I always panic beforehand but other than that we get on with our lives.

He has damage to his spine that was caused by mm before the…[Read more]

I hope they arrange a meeting very soon, and that the best thing for Michael can be sorted out.

    Hi Sandie

I am glad that others have said about the biopsy as I am the wife of an mm person and so have no real idea, but I can say that I have seen Stephen's toes curl when he has to have them (he does not have sedation) so I think it is a good idea for your mum to be a bit woozy.

She sounds as though she is coping very well with having mm,…[Read more]

That seems to be good news Bridget and I wish you the very best of luck. Stephen cannot be operated on because there is too much damage and so still relies on MST gabapentin and parecetamol. He has, by determination practicaly cut out the oromorph.

I do hope it goes well for you although the thought of further surgery must be daunting. Keep us…[Read more]
