I am so pleased that it all went well. Here's hoping it gets better and better. If finger crossing does work then let's hope everybody that reads these posts crosses their fingers for a second or two:-)

    Dear Angelina

I just wanted you to know that I have my fingers crossed that John is home on Sunday and I'm hoping that he will be home far more permanently soon

    Hi Min

I am so glad I am not the only wierdo in the UK. I hate tennis too.

I know how you feel about getting angry. I have felt, at times, completely fuming and bewildered as to how Stephen could get so ill. Almost like "Stephen what did you do???"

Stephen is 2 weeks post 2nd SCT, and not yet very strong. To be honest he has been hard work since he came out of King's.

I am exhausted and when I get a chance to sleep I can't.

I do hope that Peter is on the mend now and you both feel better soon

I am pleased that you are doing so well. Stephen still has PN in his feet but I believe that this side affect does go eventualy.

    Dear Min

I am so sorry that I have not picked up on your postings before. Being busy with Stephen being home I have not really looked at the site. I am pleased that Peter seems to be on the mend and hope that he is home on Monday and feeling much better.

    Love from Gillxx

Thanks to everybody for your good wishes. Well, It does seem to be a slower pace than the first SCT but it is moving forward, if slowly. Stephen's appetite has returned with a renewed vigour and he makes DEMANDS (cheeky so and so!) OOOHH I realy fancy shepherds pie/sausage casserole/ spag bol. He is having a bit of a problem swallowing so his food requests are all slightly sauce or gravyish. No rump steak and chips yet:-) but I am sure that will come.

The loo run is starting to be only twice a day, and not good but his medical team said it is more than likely the medication rather than the mm and poo tests have been fairly OK. (we have a puppy that has had a loo problem so believe me I am fed up with poo and the collection of it for tests). OK far too much information!!!

His head needs a bit of weathering, as it has that bald creamy "I have had chemo" look. The weather report is fairly good for our part of the world for the week-end and we have bought some petunias, geraniums etc. to go in pots and hanging baskets, so Stephen can sit in the garden and direct me (bully that he is;-)as to how to plant them.

All in all everything is moving forward and we both feel pretty lucky at the moment considering what some others are going through.

I'd like to send our wish to John, Angelina and their daughters that they all have more time together than they are expecting and just let them know that we are thinking of them

    Much love to everybody Gillxxx

My heart goes out to you Angelina for all that you are going through. My husband (Stephen) is the mm person in our life.

We had a very lazy morning laying in bed until about 8 am and chatting. I told Stephen about your posting and we came to the same thought.

A memory book is a wonderful idea. I did one for my mother in law when Stephen's dad died (just old pictures and a few bits from the merchant navy books that she had kept)

Stephen said that he thought it great but would hate it if it was done behind his back when he was still around. If John is up to doing this for Erin and Teagan then it may be quite nice to spend some of his last time doing something that is important to him and will be very, very important to his children especialy later on.

If he cannot face this then maybe you can transcribe his feelings into the "book"

If you decide to create the memory "whatever" don't forget favourite tunes "I can't believe you and Dad listened to this rubbish" "Oops you mean this was recorded in YOUR DAY.

Yes Yes Yes ask everybody to contribute why should we have to wait for a loved one to die before we celebrate their life.

Your girls should know how special their Daddy was before he had to leave them

I hope you can both get through the next few weeks with all the strength that you can muster.

I am so sorry to read your post regarding your wife's death. We all take our blood for granted as a nothing and then, when we get into the world of blood problems, we start to realise just what can go wrong.

I do hope you are starting to come to terms with your loss and wish you well

I wish I had an answer Bridget. Stephen always seems to self medicate (ie takes more than he is prescribed) but it never takes the pain in his back away completely

I do hope that they find a cocktail of drugs to help.

OK I must have something very wrong here. Stephen has been having Velcade through his PICC line and has had very bad (and I mean bad) diarrhoea. His Specialist asked for a sample but was very surprised and thought it was nothing to do with the velcade. Gill (or confused from Orpington)

    Dear Tina

I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure that it is of little help at the moment but please know that I, like everyone else on this site, am thinking of you.
