Hi Sarah
It will be good to have your husband home. Ian is now walking with sticks and getting stronger. We got a grant for a wet room with hand rails. He also has a riser recline chair, Comdex also used in the shower and a hospital bed. Speak to your social worker if you need anything.

Hi Sarah
Ian wasn’t advised to avoid any types of food but I do wash fruit thoroughly and we only eat red meat once a week. Was told to eat lots of proteins to heal wounds and I also give him a teaspoon ogre manuka honey every day as it is good for the immune system.
Hope M is home soon

Hi Sal
Sorry to hear about M. My hubby is 57 and has had several operations on his spine and lost mobility. He is now walking on crutches and getting stronger after more than a year in hospital. Take one day at a time and try not to look far into the future. Comfort him but do try to make him do things for himself and be independant.

We are in central Scotland and get treatment at Forth Valley Royal hospital. We have found the consultants very good. I believe Dundee have a specialist unit for myeloma

I was thinking of Dai too. It was a lovely day here and I like to think he is now signing with the angels.
Think of him often and will miss his cheery character.

Hi Pauline
Sorry to hear your hubby Marc has mm and so young. We all suffer from shock when our loved ones are firstly diagnosed. My husbnad is 57 and has been in hospital for seven months due to late diagnosis which consisted of a compressed spine. We learn to adapt and take each day as it comes. As Andy says each day is a gift.

bandityoga replied to the topic SCT not worked -help in the forum Treatment 11 years, 6 months ago
Hi Christine
My husband Ian has not been offered an SCT as he is not mobile at the moment but consultant said that after looking at all options SCT is not now considedred as first treatment. This is also the opinion in the US as there are other treatments that work without being so invasive.
Hope they can find an alternative for Chris.
