Hi everyone.
We went to the day unit this morning for my zometa today after my blood tests Friday. Had to have another blood test today after some slightly low results Friday – HB 10.0 NEUT 0.5 PLT 69 – probably caused by the infections, cough and cold I had following our holiday. I was taken off cyclophosphamide as a precaution. Today's…[Read more]

Hi Keith.
Good news about your blood tests. Now all you need is your platelets to continue climbing. Then you'll be back to stabbing yourself again 😉
Good luck Keith

Hi Ali
Tell your mum not to rub the site after injection, this is what causes the bruising, try not to touch it,hold the tummy firm, and make sure ,to use alternative sides.
Slim has very little flesh, but never had bruising only the flesh getting a bit hard.

Hi Polly
Well my advice is to go on the trials, you will be randomised for CDT or CDR first one is standed treatment second one is a new version, both available as first treatments. It is the Velcade which is second line treatment that is important,Velcade at the moment is second line treatment that is still under trials,so could be with drawn, but…[Read more]

Hi Helen
It's the dam Dex that is causing the most problems. He is ok when he takes it but when he stops he's not on the same planet as the rest of us. His Protein is still at 2 and this is supposed to be the last cycle. He said if its necessary he will continue with it. That really surprised me. Am phoning the myeloma nurse on Wednesday. She…[Read more]

Dear Rachel
I was shocked and saddened by the untimely death of Paul. We where having a similar MM journey struggling to get to SCT as the medics tried to find the right drugs. I went through the DTPace regime before Paul and again it failed me. I must admit when DTpace worked for Paul I was a touch jealous but also pleased when it worked for…[Read more]

They do like putting hurdles in your way. Considering what you've both been through to get to this stage I think this latest blip will be a piece of cake and those cells will be back where they belong in no time at all.

Hi Pat
I got my blue badge through my local council and found it straight forward. I have the higher rate DLA so I qualified automatically. I was also entitled to a bus pass as well. I'm 54 😉
Good luck with your application.

Sorry to hear your still having trouble with your chest but at least you now know the cause.
