  • Hi Karen, said it before, dread those days before clinic, just like you.
Best of luck, if you see Dr Barton say hello from me.
Hope it goes well on Thursday.
    Regards

  • Unfortunately, we all know that horrible time will come, let’s just hope that your consultant is thinking ahead rather than respomding to some specific data. All the best and I hope your wife’s remission continues on.

  • dickb started the topic Cancer Drug Fund in the forum Off topic 10 years, 3 months ago

Have read recently that the Cancer Drug Fund will be extended until 2016. For those that haven’t heard of it, it’s a fund that allows the NHS to prescribe certain cancer drugs before they have widespread approval.

Now there is an e-petition set up http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/64432. I would suggest the more people that respond to…[Read more]

  • Hi,

I can’t help with an idea of the cost of a SCT but your post worries me and probably a few others. After the government has decided to cut the Cancer fund and all the money wasted with more reforma, perhaps, you – the patients (I can’t, I live overseas) ought to start lobbying your MP’s or e-petition No 10. Afterall, it is your lives they are…[Read more]

I know,I can always remember thinking,I wish I had known that at first,we try to cram all this information in and it is hard,Slims consultant was very good at answering my questions with ” don,t worry about that” hindsight is a wonderful thing! And the best place to come for knowledge is here on this site, there is always someone in front…[Read more]

  • Hi Eve,

I’m sure there’s a lot of us on this Forum that are thinking of you and Slim at the moment. You’re probably as strong as Slim is stubborn but that doesn’t mean people can’t help when needed.

    All the best Richard

  • Hi Bryn and all the other new comers that have joined this post.

We all approach the news of Myeloma differently ,we were just glad we new what it was!!!!
Then you get all these books and you are having to make choices about things you do not know anything about, you spend time reading a book, but it’s hard to understand at first.

  • Just to add to Martin’s post, before seeing your consultant, write down a list of questions and don’t be afraid to ask. It will all help with you understanding your illness and living with it.

    Hi David

Not sure about Tom posting on forum (not on much myself) but he’s been posting on Facebook. I know he had bloods taken last week and sees consultant on Thursday. Will post on Facebook that you are asking for him. Hope things are good for you

I was diagnosed in 2012, went onto the myeloma XI drug trial! it is all tablet form! no hospital stay. This was followed by a stem cell transplant. Not trying to tell you that it was easy, but I did it, so have many others. My paraprotiens have…[Read more]

  • Hi David

Yes someone is trying to kill you!?, your body!

When it gets to this stage do you find it’s just something else to add to the list????
Slims was a SNCO Richard so that explains every thing, cannot see him repenting he is to stubborn!!!!

His own doctor came to see him yesterday as his dosage in his driver is very high, plus backup…[Read more]

  • No, no ones trying to kill you, God just hates ex SNCO’s. They kept blaspheming and using bad language to the youth in their care. You could always repent and see if he lets you off. 🙂
