Hi Izzie,
If you look at my thread – ‘Buddies wanted’ there is a lot of posts by me, Ang and Carol about what we went through from Stem cell harvest to post SCT. We all had different experiences so it should give you an idea what to expect. As for the Neuropathy, I had the same throughout the harcest in early December- very painful at night, poor…[Read more]

Morning,
Did some basic maths based on the figures I gave in my last post. If I still remember how to use a calculator than the chances of having MM in Melton is an incidence of 0.00033, for the population in general it is 0.000328. That’s not really a big difference. By the way I did badly at maths at the Upper School – like a lot of us there at…[Read more]

Hiya Jeff and Richard.
Jeff what you have found is so interesting, there must be a link of some description, especially as Dick was in the same place at the same time.
Well worth pursuing that one!
Good bit of research ther.
Regards
Tony F

Hi Jeff,
I had a good reason to ask as I went to the upper school and lived in and around Melton for 14 out of 23 years before moving to Leicester, So that makes 10 of us with a link to Melton. As they’re are supposed to be about 3,500 new cases a year and possibly 20,000 sufferers in the country at any one time than the ratio in a town the size…[Read more]

dickb replied to the topic Claiming PIP (DLA) in the forum Off topic 11 years, 8 months ago
Hi Carol,
The DWP website says that expats can claim so long as they have contributed to the system, eg NI payments. As I have worked for 32 years I believe I have contributed enough. If they ask me to attend an assessment that could get interesting as my medics say I must not travel.
Sarah,
One of the things that cropped up in my wife’s…[Read more]

I’m having to consider claiming PIP from the DWP but we’ve read some really horrendous stories about the assessment for the allowance. Has anyone tried recently to claim and gone through the assessment with ATOS. Thanks,
Richard

Hi Andy
I had a good sleep last night,Slim was a usual,up most of the night, but occasionally my body fails me,I make up for all the sleep I loose. It is the Chemo brain that causes, the inability to retain information,he can not do complicated crosswords any more.
Has anyone said how the Pomilidomyde is working?????and how do you feel about it in…[Read more]

Good evening me hearties.
Eve – I have Slims problems with reading. It’s a nightmare. If I put a book down for a couple of days I have to go back over what I’ve read to recall what it is I’m reading! TV series are the same – so I record them now and watch them one after another over a couple of days instead of weekly.
Oh I’m sorry it looks like…[Read more]

Hi Andrew
Well done and yes you should be pleased I had mine done in 2009 and at the start it was 100 but as the months moved on I got the all clear and spot on and am under the impression it’s near the norm, stick with it with a big grin and a skip in your step.
Good luck you are well on the road to remission
Tom onwards and upward x

Hi Dick
That’s a good one, cannot even blame the booze as it’s morning,!!!!
I use an I pad all the time now,and know it looks like a slip of the finger because F and D are next to each other, but I honestly believe it’s predictive rather then slip of the finger,I am so lazy I do not read it again unless it,s red lined for unknown word.

Hi Eve, think you have the same finger trouble as Maureen, surely you meant ‘take the dog down to the beach’ Certain you can remember what the dog is as well.

Hi Andy
Did you notice it’s all women that turned out as pirates,I think it was Maureen and the sex bit???? Or some are not posting there own thread but when they come on to comment on some one else’s post,it’s so nice to here from them.

Thanks for that. I’m in bed and when you post came through I went down stairs and read it to him. It has been a relief to him that you and Jane have had experience of this drug. Hi Tom and Jane
Thanks I talked Frank into taking another one today he was reluctant but it’s great what a bit of nagging can do. He took it this morning and he’s has been as high as a kite. I asked him if it eased the pain and he said no but he couldn’t give a ****. Should be fun when we go on to 2 a day. But he’s been good this afternoon and…[Read more]

Hi Liz
Some people have been on Revilimid for years and doing well,so let’s hope Kevin gets a good length of time,I think most of these drugs leave patients prone to infections as they batter all the cells not just the Cancer cells.

Hi all Franks has asked me to post this (first) to see if anyone can help. Pain from the shingles is very bad and doctor prescribed Pregabalin Lycra. He has to take one a day and then after a few day he has to take 2. He took one on Friday and it really zonked him out. It did not help the pain but he felt so peculiar and was very unsteady on his…[Read more]
