when I went to the myeloma open day in London there was a lecture from a visiting proffesser from America, who spoke about varius treatment and Pomalidomide was one of them he said that the results were very positive sometimes on their own and some times combined with a steriod he seem to think it was going to be one of the next best…[Read more]

Hi Gill sorry but as others have already said dex was a part of my recent velcade treatment Mind you it was a fairly low dose taken only 2 days a week so not as bad Stock up on ear plugs , buy yourself an i-pod even and pretend you cant hear for those dex days !!Heres hoping your peace loving hubby wont suffer from too much dexatude though love Bridget x

Hi Amelie great news about Johns remission ,long may it last The only advice I can add regarding infections is to have the pneumonia vaccine which lasts ten years .I had this vaccine 2 years ago and although I did have pneumonia last year it is likely to have been more severe if I hadnt been vaccinated love Bridget x

It is good to hear John's positive news. I think that we are more perceptible to infections in general because (I believe) infections and bone marrow are closely connected and our bone marrow is weakened by the disease.
