I think it is yes, but it's also about the budgetary constraints your particular post code lottert dictates. I could be wrong on this and hope I am!

Thanks Keith it does seem to be the case that some people are put on Zometa pretty much long term and others aren't. Interesting.

Hi Wendy thanks for the reply.
It sounds like you responded really well to your SCT and to hear that you managed to continue working during chemo and picked up again quickly after the transplant is inspiring.

Best of luck with your continued recovery.

My consultant said that even though organ end damage was very slight (organ being the spine), it's best to go in hard and early if you can. From what I can make up this is an ongoing discussion in MM – whether to use a lighter or more dramatic treatment in early diagnosis.

I guess I have to trust my specialist. Not looking forward to the process, but looking forward to it hopefully kicking it's arse 🙂

Hi Carroll I'm sory sorry to hear of your relapse.
I'm due to have two cycles of PAD in jan so any feedback on how that is going for you and any sides would be appreciated.

    Lots of love

    Helen thanks that's really useful.

I'll assess where I am post SCT in conjunction with my specialist.

Keith and Tom thanks for sharing your thoughts and experiences.

Keith just to clarify you have continued to have zometa continuously since your first SCT?
It does appear in the states as though this is a standard maintenance treatment there.

    Thanks again

Thanks Michele there does appear to be a discrepancy as some people have it limited to a year or two post treatment.

Thanks Michele, how often do you receive the Zometa? Also where are you based, I wonder if ongoing Zometa therapy is a post-code lottery?

Thanks Peter it's good to here you've had a good response.

I totally agree we should be open-minded about different ways to wrestle with the beast.
