    Hi Helen
Sorry to here about the pneumonia but sounds like you dealing with it.Not turned superstious yet just taking one step at a time, decided just to crack on with things and trust in the medical team and Rachal and I will get on with life.Seems like i am due quite a few cycles of PAD before we can turn and look at SCT and allograph.Must admit in a strange way i am looking forward to getting it delt with.I am one of those who likes to deal with things soon as.Still off work but may well soon look at going back part time if meds going well.Having a dog is a good idea if you get a puppy to start as cats feel they are in charge and put the puppy in its place as Archie is finding out.Soon as he has had is injections we can start walks with is good for both of us.Keep well and speak soon.

    Hi Helen
Well i had a hiccup or two en route, not yet made sct yet.My temp started to spike over new years and after.Ended up going into hospital for 3 weeks to have many tests run to see what was going on.In the end it seems the myeloma had come out of remisssion and come back.I was on the myeloma 11 trial, now off this and on PAD for a while.Feeling much better and getting back to my usual positive outdoor self.SCT and allograph remain in the treatment plan its one step at a time.We just got a puppy as well a border terrier called archie hes very cute!!.He will get plenty of runs on the moors and beaches so looking forward to that.
How are you doing I followed with interest your progress and thoughts.
    cheers paul

    Hi Kerry
Sounds like like you guys are are really strong, stick with it as people have said the medical team will have treatment options so just ask them thats really important. The more you ask the better informed you are.
    take care:-D

    Hi Glenn
I turned 40 this year, when I got brought into hospital last year i had compression on my spine which could of stopped me using my legs.(I had just been mountain biking and walking in north west Scotland)Had radiotherapy and now on RCD pathway (Myeloma 11 trial).Upper back still aches but Thats about it and went into remission in December 11.You are right about the medical team to have confidence in them and to tell them anything which changes or is on your mind.
Its as you say about being positive and listening to your body some days you can achieve more some days you rest more.
I am on the Zometa and go once a month to help the bones, take care and keep active.

    Hello Dai
Sorry to read about the short remission but you are a positive bloke hopefully this new combo will turn things around.
I two had a blip over Xmas & new year not related to Myeloma directly.I went for a gentle cycle along the canal near home just to keep things moving after the Xmas glut. Anyway came to a arch bridge going over may route and narrowing my cycle area,I decided to sort of hobby horse i.e using feet to just keep me up right and guide me under the bridge…..:-( Paul made the wrong choice swerved to avoid a couple coming my direction and went head first into the canal!!:-P with bike. The bloke pulled me and my bike out…i said thank and cycled off feeling like a fool.
Thoe it does make me laugh. We then went away on holiday to Scotland for a week, near the end of the week i started to feel shivery and cold so luckily we were on our way back with my Temp at 38.6.Phoned the hospital who took me in for 2 nights on antibiotics.I am fine now.
If anyone says just go for a gentle cycle you will be OK…dont blo.dy belive them!
Hope that brought a smile to you as it does mine.
    cheers Paul

    Hi Tom
I am sure your sons are right in saying Leeds is more fun than Scunthorpe!:-) .I dont go to Leeds as I live on the yorks /Lancs border and Manchester is much closer to me.My SCT is being lined up at St James (jimmy's) in Leeds so its abit like going to the other side of the world to me!!I suspect it was Seacroft hospital you may have gone to.Have a good weekend:-D
    cheers Paul
