    Hi Eve

Still trying to adjust. Taking Ian out each day but still having our rows. Wanted him to walk outside a little on his zimmer and then go for coffee. Ended up rowing as he wants me to make sure about parking, toilets etc for disabled. I parked the car and couldn't get the zimmer out as I was too near to the next car. Ian shouted at me and we ended up going home.

Think I am trying to do too much. Stained one side of our bathroom door this morning. I'm not coping very well.

    Hope Slim gets better soon.

    Hi Eve

Went out shopping with Ian today to our local M & S store but had no time for coffee as carer comes at 3pm to put him to bed we had to rush home. Thinking of cancelling carer at this time as all they have to do is take off his shoes.

Thought life would get easier but had a good cry and feeling better. I will try to encourage Ian to go out each day when the weather is good. Also trying to encourage him to do more for himself. Made a cup of tea for breakfast but had a row before he would try it.

Hope life is good for you both.

    Hi Beverly

My husband Ian has just got home from hospital after one year. I was desperate to have him home but thought life would be better. I have cried all afternoon wishing for our old life but know it will never be the same. Trying to encourage Ian to go out every day even for a short while.

Wish you were near and we could share a bottle of wine.

    Hi Jean, Eve and Tom

Ian Hasn't ventured out yet and still sticking to hospital regime . I will have to encourage him to change and start living life again. It is not easy adjusting to each other again. Ihad to go out for some space today as Ian expects me to do everything but he has to be more independant and not bark at me. He is also complaining of back pain so we have arranged an mri scan to be on the safe side. Hope that it is only muscular pain.

    Hi Sue

My husband Ian also had pins put in his back. He is now only just out of hospital after one year and walking with aid of zimmer. Trying to persuade him to get out and live life now but has back pain. Waiting for mri scan to make sure there are lesions.

It's not easy being a carer. Hope Keith gets a good remission

    Hi David

Ian's home visit went well. He couldn't believe how quiet the house was compared to the hospital and he didn't want to get out of bed as it was so comfy.

    Only 2 days to go.

Ian had to be as independent as possible and try out his bed, shower, toilet etc. which he managed fine. We are having a carer for 8.75 hours per week but I am sure we won't need her for long as I gave up work and Ian can get himself moving with a zimmer and crutches.

    Thanks Andy

Will keep a note of this when Ian feels confident enough to travel will get a quote.

Ian had his home visit today and it went very well. Commented on how quiet it was in the house compared to the hospital. He will have to take it slowly at first as he hasn't been mobile for months but progress is very good and now walking more with zimmer and physio thinks he will walk without aids.

Went for monthly zometa infusion on Monday and blood results. All bloods were fine but no light chain report as hospital was late in taking bloods. Hopefully they will be stable. Now 6 months will no chemo. Still praying for a miracle.

    Life is a gift.

    Hi Andy

Great that you managed to get 2 weeks chemo free in the sun, holiday sounds good. You are making the most of life and getting out there. I will be doing the same with Ian when he gets out. Got cinema lined up and drives in the country. Holidays will come later.

Good luck with the back and I hope they find another treatment that will work for you.

Every day is a gift, live it to the full.

My husband Ian went through a phase of not doing anything other than watching tv. I told him the nurse was going to give him a telling off for doing nothing and he started using his tablet and listening to music. Ian had a very bad spinal compression and needed an op as his upper spine had been eaten away. Getting out of hospital on Monday after being in for 1 year and now more mobile.

    Good luck with your dad.

    Hi Eve

Sorry to hear Slim has been in hospital. It is a worrying time for you.

The wet room will be finished today and it is looking good. Will be happy when all the workmen have gone and I can relax.

Looking forward to having Ian home.
