Hi Tom, Eve, Megan, Eve, David and Jo

Thanks for your good wishes. Can't believe that Ian is coming home in one week. It will be great not to rush out to hospital especially now summer has gone. Looking forward to having our bottle of wine together and cuddling up on a Friday night.

Bathroom being made into wet room and should be finished on Friday. Ramp being made and care package put in place.

Will need to apply for a blue badge, I believe it is a huge form to fill in.

Haven't had time to miss work this week.

Great news Jacquie, you must be very happy and relieved. Hope Geoff gets a long remission.

I too light candles when I visit churches in different parts of the world and find it very emotional.

How tragic that your young son died. What age was he?

I will keep praying as I believe in the power of prayer and hopefully they will find a cure for myeloma in the near future.

    hi Jan

We do like to eat well and we did this in Nice. Didn't go into casino as I'm not a gambler and I think you have to book 2 weeks in advance for a tour. Scenery is beautiful as is weather.

I am happly that Ian is progressin well and due to get discharged. Consultant said no SCT at moment as he has to mobile but will get second opinion if light chains rise drastically and all treatments have been tried. Consultants believe that the new treatments outweight the need for an SCT.

    Take care

    Hi Christine

Wonderful news. Consultant told my husband he wouldn't walk again and he is now walking with a zimmer and going from strength to strength. Myeloma treatment had to be stopped early to allow bed sore to heal but he has had no treatment since April and although his light chains are rising slowly, he is on no treatment at present.

I believe in the power of prayer which has been a comfort to me and miracles do happen.

    Enjoy life.

I give my husband Ian blueberries and manuka honey which is good for the immune system. He has been in hospital for one year and for the past 7 months I have taken him dinner. We have always ate healthily but are cutting down on red meat. Ian is now walking more on the zimmer and he thinks he will be able to walk without aid in the future.

I do no know if what you eat affects the cancer but we try.

I too felt guilty and so sad when I first went back to work after Ian was diagnosed because he was stuck in a hospital. Be positive, Ian is coming out of hospital after one year and the myeloma has stayed stable since April after 4 cycles of CTD. We know that he will require further treatment but we are going to enjoy the time we have now and not think about the future yet.

I read a post about feeling like a butterfly with the wings clipped, that is how I feel too. We used to have such fun and visit lovely places. I'm glad we didn't know what lay around the corner.

I also pray and have faith which helps me.

Glad to know that your op was a success and you are more mobile and your posture has improved. Ian had open surgery and a pin put in his back. I think it was because of the position in his spine as it was the neck to upper back.

    Hi David

Glad you had a nice time in France with the family.

I am trying to persuade Ian to go on a cruise when he has been home for a few months. Haven't been on a cruise before but believe you are well looked after.

    Hi Scott

Good to know that SCT has gone well and you are making good progress. You will soon be home and on the road to recovery. Hope you get a lot remission.
