Hi Mari
So sorry that you have had such an awful shock. I had a similar one a few years ago and then it went down again after a couple of months. At the time I personally put it down to the shock at the loss of my son in law in a road traffic accident (aged only 32 and Daddy to a little boy aged 5)but who knows with MM? – not sure even the…[Read more]

Hi Terry and welcome although I´m truly sorry that we are meeting here!
You really have been through it I´m afraid haven´t you? I was going to mention Revlimid (which seemed to work ok for me apart from the side effects and it brought my paraprotien level down prior to SCT but I have just read Scott talking about it to you. Might be worth as…[Read more]

Hi Ted
So glad to hear that you are continuing in fairly good health – long may it continue!
We live in Halifax and I am beginning to think that it´s going to rain forever here!
Take good care of yourself.

You are not a burden Mari I am so sorry that Steve did not have better news but hold on in there the figures might change. When do you see the consultant again?
I am sure that we all have our cyber fingers crossed for you both.
Do keep in touch Good luck and love from Gill
Gill started the topic Advice Please Bl**dy Bank Again. in the forum Off topic 13 years, 6 months ago
Some of you may remember a Rant Over Banks I had some time ago. Stephen realised that, being diagnosed with mm at 53, he was highly unlikely to be in a position to claim his state pension at 65 and, because it was terminal, he could ask for the contributions he had paid into his private pension to be reimbursed.
Our bank (the one we had been…[Read more]

Yuck Roz I hate kedgeree 🙁 But what a great word for the game
ERRONEOUS was my first try but, thinking it might be a bit too racy, I thought of ERSTWHILE.
I leave it to others to choose whether to be racy or not 🙂
Gill replied to the topic Zometa v loron? in the forum Treatment 13 years, 6 months ago
I too believe that treatment is cost led to a point. Our health insurance would only fund Stephen on 3 lots of Zometa this time round as they had already paid for Velcade during the past year. Gill xxx

Hi Terry
We must indeed be almost neighbours, as we live in the last road on the right at the bottom of Poverest Hill. We are about half way along where the semis are. (The one with the iron gates).
Stephen hasn?t attended Kings since his last SCT so it was not us you saw. Mind you I just love the idea that we have doppelgangers that are the…[Read more]

Hi Terry and Welcome
If you are attending Sidcup you cannot be very far away from us we live in Orpington. Stephen (husband with mm) was diagnosed in 2008 and has relapsed after his second SCT failed. He is under Prof Schey at Kings.
I am not very up on the success rate of all the different drugs, but I don't think velcade is a last resort.…[Read more]

Hi Etta and Welcome
It is my husband Stephen that has mm (diagnosed 2008) You will get a great deal of support and information on here, there are even silly games and jokes cracked sometimes.
Don't trawl the internet too closely would be my advice. Most of the information is out of date and can be quite scary. There are trained professionals…[Read more]

I thought I had replied to your post but the Ether Elves seemed to have grabbed my reply. I too have posted regarding another category being added to the site. What a good idea.
Much love from Gill xx
PS Sarah enjoy France especially driving your convertable and quaffing Champagne. Not at the same time obviously xx

Hi Wendy
I do wish I had an answer for you but one thing I would suggest is to go on the USA mm line I have not got a www address but I don't think it will be too hard to find.
When I looked (quite a long time ago) it seemed that they were doing a much bigger range of transplant options with some amazing results. Please don't trawl the…[Read more]

Hi Dai
I was trying to work your anagrams out and then realised that you know my surname already so made anagrams out of Gill Seaward and Gillian Seaward (yes I am a Gillian but I only ever got called that when my Dad was cross with me!)
