  • Hi Folks
Another quick guide for the newcomers section. Starting a new discussion.

    Hope it helps
    Stuart.

  • Hi David
We have big plans for the profile section this year so we will be updating this whole area of the website. Currently there is a small section called "About the author" where you can write a small biography. For some reason the box you type this information into is tiny at the moment, although you can still add plenty of text. I will…[Read more]

    Hi Ron
Unfortunately we don't have a spell checker built into the site, although we have requested that one be added. If you are using a web browser other than Internet Explorer such as Safari on the Mac or Chrome you may get red underlines in misspelled words as these web browsers have automatic spell checkers built in. There is a free spell…[Read more]

    Hi Keith
Sorry to here you've been having problems posting. I have raised the issue with our development team and hopefully they will have this fixed shortly. It's probably just a setting somewhere that needs changing to allow more time. If you have any more issues with the site please contact us directly at webteam@myeloma.org.uk. We can't…[Read more]

  • webteam replied to the topic Bogus Email? in the forum General 13 years, 9 months ago

    Hi all,

Just to confirm these aren't emails that have originated from Myeloma UK.

It seems that those who have registered with myelomaforums are getting this email and it may be worth making sure your anti-virus software is on and up-to-date… just in case.

    Kind regards
    Andy (Myeloma UK)

  • Hi Debs,
Good idea. The topics will be getting another review in the new year. I'll add your suggestion to the list.

    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  • Hi Min,
I've raised the issue of creating an archive with our developers and they are looking at the options. This will hopefully be something we can get sorted out in the new year.

    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  • Hi David,
Glad you like it but I'm afraid there isn't a spell checker on this version of the site. I've put in a request to improve the message editing features and a spell checker is top of that list. It's a real shame Internet Explorer doesn't have a built in spell checker like all the alternative web…[Read more]

  • Hi Min,
I have noticed the speed of the website fall over recent weeks as well. I've reported this problem to the developers so I'm hoping for a fix shortly.

    Thanks for the feedback,
    Stuart.

  • Hi Folks,
We switched over the new website yesterday so this is us from here on out. As usual with these things there were a few minor glitches but hopefully most of you were blissfully unaware it even happened. We will be removing the beta. part of the website name shortly so don't be surprised if you find yourselves at www. instead.

    On…[Read more]

  • Hi Folks,
After much deliberation we've added some categories and changed some others. It's quite difficult to get titles which will satisfy everyone but hopefully we have a good start. We've opted for "Off topic" for jokes, photos etc. anything not specifically about myeloma. We tried hard to think of an alternative but eventually settled for…[Read more]

  • Hi Folks,
Here's another guide showing the process of changing your profile picture.
    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  • Hi David,
It's something we could set as a global setting, a bit like the threaded vs flat default setting. I will add your suggestion to the developer list as it's a good one. I'm pushing the developers to add more of the features you find on other forums and individual preferences for this sort of thing is high on my…[Read more]

  • Hi Folks,
I've put together a quick guide to walk you through the registration and logging on process. Hopefully it will help if you're having trouble getting access to the site. Don't forget you can also email Andy or myself at webteam@myeloma.org.uk as well.

    Cheers,
    Stuart.

  • Thanks Norman,
Great suggestion, I've added a Newcomers heading and I'll be adding some quick guides shortly about registering and editing the profile photo. I guess we should have had these from the beginning.

We're still pondering the wording for the other suggestions.

    Thanks,
    Stuart.

  • webteam replied to the topic Discussion forum categories… in the forum General 14 years ago

    Hi Jim,
We have a search functionality available but it's not working 100% so I've left it out for the moment. It should only search the discussion forums but currently it searches the entire website! I'm waiting on a fix from the developers, once I have it I will put a search box above each category and once above the entire forum. This will…[Read more]

Hi Dai, I have been in touch with Gill and fingers crossed we will see her posts in the very near future!

The problem has been with a couple of email clients (aol and btinternet) not liking our 'email verification' email..

I had a look at an example on aol yesterday and found the email in the spam folder. I haven't had a chance to look into…[Read more]

    Hi Debs,
The automatic subject update was a mistake I'm afraid…but will return on Monday! The developers accidentally released a new version into the wild.

I've managed to grab all the old forum posts into a document so we're half way there on that front. Just need to find a way to put them into the new forum. Hopefully we can automate…[Read more]

  • Afternoon All,
I've had a few requests for some additions / changes to the discussion forum categories. I'm starting this thread so you can all add your suggestions underneath.

    Currently we have :
