Hi Teresa
I know this is a hard time for you and your family,I hope you have a palliative care team, coming in to help you.
I can only send you my best wishes, and hope you achieve those small goals, that you talked about.Peter has a goal with the grandchild on the way.
Love Eve
Hi Dai
Well in truth you have been here before, and you know the routine, but you know you will get over this little hurdle, you both sound if you need a bit of a break and some pampering!!!!,can you do anything about that, I know as a carer how much it takes out of me,some times I just want me time.years ago i use to cook for England,I realised this was a away of forgetting my problems, because when you cook in quantity you have to focus on it.
Can you and janet just get away to a Pamper day lots of offers on the net,a day just being waited on and doing nothing but relaxing.
Worth thinking about.:-S Love Eve
She did Dai
They had excellent seats and said it was well worth going.
She phoned tonight to tell me she has won a holiday for 2 for I week to the Bahamas, adults only with a choice of 3 islands,Her husband did not believe her, thought she was joking as she never thought to tell him she had entered .
Someone up there is looking after her.
Hi Gary
Slim had his SCT on 13 may and came out Ist of june
He still takes ante sickness pills used to take Ondansetron but known to make you constipated,so now on Domperidone he was given 2 months supply by Kings,he takes them 30 min before meals, but does eat in between mealtimes.
If your sister is having all this and is still being sick, then they should be doing some test,At 6 stone she should think about being tubed.
Looking at Slim i have had a constant battle to get him to eat and drink,he went down to 62 k,I be came the carer from hell,he wanted to eat and drink but could not,he had to go in for fluids, bloods and platelets.
Saying that he does seem to have turned the corner, very very tired but eating and holding his weight not going down, would like to see more fluid, he does his best,But it has been very slow progress.
Hope this is some help.Eve
Hi Jo
Nice to hear from you:-)
I feel much better now,as not going to the hospital so much with Slim, and that by itself is great,as i can get food and drink more regulated at home.
Not needed any platelets so that is a bonus,he is looking a lot better, although he still try,s to over do it,next will be BMB to see if it has worked, then plan a holiday,Slims making plans for NZ,which to me is a step to far,but if it keeps him going thats the main thing.
Hope you are doing well and looking forward to your next break, might make the London info day next year,.So you never know might meet one of these days. Love Eve
Hi Ali
Good to hear things are going ok with your mum,
You make sure you take it easy as when this is over ,I think it,s when the hard work begins for the person who is doing the caring,it can be a very emotional thing as well as being aware that it takes so much energy away from your mum.
I kept the Grandchildren away for the first month, and anyone who had a cold i might have been over protective but its so easy,to become ill in a short space of time,Slim still does not do shops, which he enjoys not doing lol, still feels the cold although it,s very hot here in SE Kent. Eve
Hi Andy and Steph
How do you feel about it all!!!! has it answered some questions.!!! Do you feel that everyone is trying there best for you!!!.I think over all you must be pleased even if you are unique.
Well you might not see it at this moment, but you have made the big boys sit up and take notice,
You have your answers and you know were you stand, and now you have the top man on your side,am I correct in saying refractory is used in the sense of waiting to see what going to happen next, stable but see if it goes up or down!!!!
I hope you mind is in a state of ease as I started the ball rolling, not my intention just could not understand treatments and time limits.Eve
Hi Judd
How are things going,I see you did not get many reply,s I know Andy G went on them, plus another person.
I have bumped this up to the top.so if more people see it you might get some reply,s let us know how you get on .Eve
Hello Myra
Welcome to the site,
You have listened to the doctor,s what do they say!!!!!
My husband is the person with Myeloma, and he has damage to his bones but no compression on the spinal cord which is a good thing. If he was in danger of compression he would not have much choice. As for pain yes he is in pain, and has strong pain relieve, his hip plays havoc with his walking. But in the grand scheme of things,he would rather put up with pain and pain relieve, than take on another problem.Eve
Hi Jean
Lets hope so,some one on the net said blackmarket asking £45,000 for tickets, but you would have to use a forged passports as they check ticket belongs to person who enters.
2 0f my daughters always put in for tickets and have done well each year.
This is the best though.Eve
Hi Ladies
Great to hear all the good news, but as per usual were are all the men!!!!!
Hi David
How about renewing your Vows,I should imagine as you got marries 50 years ago, things were hard,Do it in style,a lovely day to remember.Eve
Hi Helen and Tom
Well he is holding his own, went down to 61.4 now 62.2 so not to bad.
As you can guess from his name ,he has always been Slim,he looks very healthy at 12st 8lb.But 9st 8Lb gives no room for any extra that might come his way.
My thanks to you both, for your support,it does look if he has turned the corner, had bloods taken today, and they were ok,doctor said once his platelets rise to 75 the line can come out.Love Eve
Hi jean
Just a quick reply.
There should be a notice some were that tells you ,you have every right to see results of test, and bloods are test.Next time get 20 pence out of your purse and give it to them and shame them, how dare they not give you a print out!!!!!!
At the moment I know the results by phone but every week or so I ask for a print out,Eve
Hi Jean
Well you know about Slims bloods plus kappa light chains!!!,the bloods only give an indication of the cells,If you ask for a copy of the bloods every time you go,its states the results if they are out of the band they should be in it will show you. This way you can keep your own watch on them.
Eg haemoglobin 9.2 g/dl (13 to 18 ) this shows that Slims is low than normal but is still within range of not needing bloods,if it went down to 8.6 then he would need bloods. They would expect his bloods to be lower because of treatment,so there is no worry, but needs to be kept an eye on.
Hope this is understandable!!!!
Through this treatment they are going to be differences,if you learn about them it helps, for example low potassium, they do not like,so instead of taking another tablet, you can feed him, bananas tomatoes apricots and if he can drink it guiness,It all helps.
Bowels will be the next big movement.LOL. Love Eve
