Its harder on you and your family than on your mum,The driver will take away the pain,and your mum is in a state of ease,I do hope by the time your mum is ready to let go,you will be ready to let her go.

I have been wondering how things were with you,but felt that you had enough to cope with,with out answering any post,but do not think our thoughts are not with you,you are just making the foot prints for others who will tread the same route.

I doubt it very much,
They could do a good documentary on Myeloma,not someone dying of Myeloma.
But that would not get the ratings going as good as a documentary as a person who is going to die of Myeloma,and don,t forget they gave you a time limit to do it in a year LOL:-P
If they did a documentary on all the new and exciting drugs coming out,may be donations to Myeloma would go up!!!!!!

How are you coping ,this must be a very hard time for you,are you managing a little free time for yourself!!!!!
I take it you have told all the family the position now,and you and your girls are coming to terms with what is going to happen,but still looking forward,to the birth of your Grandchild.Also the walk down to the botton of the garden to see the birds.
I find it strange that life goes on around you,the good and the bad,some times I just think,I wish I, could put things on hold for a minute.This is were my deep breathing comes in.
We know as a family we have just got to work through Matty,s death,So some days are good and others not so good Slim thinks why Matty and not him,So time is spent,holding pieces together,

This is just a welcome to the site,I have read your posting and cannot help you much,Its my husband with Myeloma and he had the usual treatment of CTD then Velcade with DC which is part of Myeloma X1 trials.

May I suggest you get in touch with Ellen the nurse and she might be able to put you in touch with someone who goes to the same hospital

At least you are based in the right place for the best treatment,good luck on your journey,I am sure someone will be able to help you on here.

Also I would get in touch with the under 50 on this site,Lots of them with the know how,plus,you can swear and shout I believe,so Tom tells me LOL

You have eased my mind,and my daughter tells me they will be able to take it out in Canterbury,so no long journey back to Kings.

I was worried about it coming out,as Slim had such a bad time of it going in,he said no way were they going to replace this one if it became infected,:-( It seems his vein thinned out and they had to take it round a bend,causing a lot of pain.

All three tubes are OK so it must be because of needing platelets.

Well this has got me thinking,!!!
Slims was put in on the 24 April,then my |Grandson passed away,so he came out of hospital and was readmitted on the 13 may,and came out on the 1 of June.

Officially he is under Kings for 100 days but having bloods and platelets at local hospital.
We have been back to kings to see consultant,but did not think to ask about line as did not know when it would come out!!!Not due back at Kings for 2 months.

But will not be officially under his consultant at Canterbury until he is discharged from Kings.

As the line took a long time to get in (4hr) I was wondering how this would effect it coming out,plus when.
I just thought everyone had the line in,the same as Slim,another learning curve on the way. Eve

I usually have my hair very short,because I do not like sitting in hair dresses,last time they just were too scared to cut enough off,so now with this wind i look if i have been dragged through a hedge backwards,Slim walks along with so many clothes on and a woolly hat he looks like a bag man and me with hair flying in my face,Good fun on the sea front people make room for us,:-P.Down in Deal it is very sunny but windy,the type of weather,you can burn in if you under estimate the heat of the sun.Eve

Slim has lost his Denis Healy eye brows,and still has no hair to shave with,he says it,s coming back as bum fluff!!(I think that,s what he said:-P )

I must admit,looking forward to Slims hair coming back,he has always had a good head of straight hair,but I believe it comes back curly just cannot see Slim with curly hair when it does come back I will post a picture.Eve

Hi Well Friday was an easy day,bloods in the morning then waiting for the call to go back in for platelets.It never came,so rang up,Slims platelets have gone up to 26,still boarder line,but they decided platelets not needed.

Have another appointment on Monday,same again bloods,so we will see what results,that brings.

Can anyone tell me when they will remove the line from Slims chest???Its handy at the moment because of all the bloods taken,but it has been in since 23 of April.
